The TuneCenter Remote Control

The TuneCenter Interface

TuneCenter’s Main screen lets you choose
between iPod Playback and Internet Radio.
Using the navigation buttons on the TuneCenter
remote, highlight the selection you would like to
listen to, and press the center “Select” button
to proceed.

Setting up TuneCenter:

1. Place TuneCenter within 6 feet of your television on
a flat surface facing your favorite couch, chair, etc.
2. Attach the yellow, red, and white RCA connectors on the
included MediaConnect cable to the appropriate ports on your
TV/Stereo, and set the TV to the correct input. (Refer to your
TV/Stereo’s manual if you need help with this step.) Attach the
other end of the MediaConnect cable to TuneCenter’s A/V Out port.
Note: If your TV or home theater supports S–Video, you may use a
standard S–Video cable to connect, instead, to TuneCenter’s S–Video port.
3. If you are setting up Tune Center for Internet Radio,
attach an Ethernet cable from your router to TuneCenter’s
Ethernet Port.
4. Set the NTSC/PAL switch to the appropriate video format
(NTSC for US and Japan, PAL for most of Europe).
5. Attach the included AC Adapter to TuneCenter’s
12V DC port, and plug the other end into a wall outlet.

Quick Start Guide

Thank you for purchasing Griffin TuneCenter.
Your iPod is only minutes away from bringing
your music, slideshows, iTunes videos, and
even Internet Radio to your home entertainment
system. Setup is easy:

Setting up a network connection

for Internet radio:

1. Press the Settings button on the TuneCenter Remote,
and navigate to the Network Setup Assistant in the
Settings screen (shown at right).
2. Select the method by which TuneCenter is to get
its IP address. “DHCP” is the correct choice
for most users.
3. Set your proxy server settings, if any. It should
be set for “No Proxy” for most users.
4. Click “Apply Settings.” TuneCenter will restart with its
new settings, and Internet radio will be ready to use.

Using TuneCenter to listen to Internet radio:

1. Highlight “Internet Radio” on TuneCenter’s Main Menu,
and press the “Select” button on the remote.
2. TuneCenter will update station listings using the
SHOUTcast Internet radio service, and will display
a list of all available stations.
3. Use the Up/Down navigation arrows on the remote
to navigate through the stations. (Page Up/Down
keys can be used to move quickly through the listings.)

Using TuneCenter to view photos:

1. Press the Video button on TuneCenter’s remote.
Your TV screen should go blank.
2. Using the iPod’s screen, select Photos.
(Note: The TuneCenter remote allows you to
navigate the screen on the iPod as well as
the TV.) Make sure TV Out is turned on in your
iPod Slideshow Settings menu on the iPod.
3. Use the Select button to start the photo slideshow.
Use the Up/Down arrows on the TuneCenter remote
to navigate through the slideshow, just as you
would use the Click Wheel on your iPod.
You should now see the TuneCenter Main Menu interface
on your TV screen. (If you don’t, check your AV connections
and your TV’s input settings.)

Using TuneCenter to view videos:

1. Press the Video button on TuneCenter’s remote.
Your TV screen should go blank.
2. Using the iPod’s screen, select Videos.
(You can use the TuneCenter remote to navigate
the iPod’s screen as well as the TV’s.)
Make sure TV Out is turned on in your iPod
Slideshow Settings menu on the iPod.
3. Use the Up/Down arrows on the TuneCenter
remote to navigate through the video selections,
just as you would use the Click Wheel on your iPod.
Use the Select button to start video playback.
There is no limit to the entertainment possibilities
for your TuneCenter. Enjoy!

Using TuneCenter to browse

the contents of your iPod:

1. Slip your iPod onto TuneCenter’s dock connector.
TuneCenter includes three universal dock inserts,
specifically designed for iPod mini and 4G Photo
and Color iPods. All new iPods come with a
universal dock insert in their packaging. Additional
dock inserts can be purchased directly from Apple.
2. Highlight “iPod Playback” on TuneCenter’s Main Menu,
and press the Select button on the Remote.
3. Using the navigation buttons on the TuneCenter Remote,
you can browse through your menus and playlists using
the same familiar categories as your iPod (Artists, Albums,
Playlists, etc.). The right navigation button on the Remote
will select the highlighted item, and the left button will take
you back one menu level.
4. During playback, use the transport buttons on the Remote
for Play/Pause, Next/Previous Track, and Scrub Forward/Back.
These functions are available anywhere in the menu system.
5. As with the iPod, TuneCenter allows you to browse for
another track or playlist while a track is playing. Press the
Menu button at the Main Menu screen to return to the
Now Playing screen.
