General Description The MC P16301/H devic es are hig hly integ rated,
high-ef ficiency , fi xed-freque ncy , step -down DC -DC
convert ers in a popula r 6-pin SOT -23 pac kage, that
operat e from input vol tage source s up to 36V .
Integr ated feature s include a high-sid e switch,
fixed-fre quency p eak curren t mode c ontrol, int ernal
compe nsati on, p eak c urren t li mit an d over temp erat ure
protecti on. Only a fe w external compo nents are
nece ssary to develop a co mplete s tep-do wn DC-D C
convert er power sup ply .
High co nverter ef ficienc y is achieved by integrating the
current-li mited, l ow-resistan ce, high -speed N-C hannel
MOSFET and asso ciated drive circu itry . High
switc hing freque ncy min imizes t he size of external
filter ing comp onents, re sulting i n a smal l soluti on size.
The MCP1 6301/H de vices ca n supply 60 0 mA of
continu ous cu rrent wh ile r egulating the output voltage
from 2.0V to 15V . An integrated , high-performa nce
peak curre nt mode arch itecture ke eps the outp ut
volta ge tig htl y regu late d, eve n duri ng in put vo ltage
steps an d output current transien t conditio ns that are
common in powe r syste ms.
The EN inp ut is used to turn the devi ce on and of f.
While turn ed of f, only a few m icro amps of current ar e
consum ed from the input for powe r shedding and load
dist ribution a pplicatio ns.
Output voltage i s set with an extern al resist or divider .
